I've always had a passion for baking. At just 12 years old I was baking cakes and selling them per slice at my mom's corner store in The Bahamas. Although I loved baking, I went down a journey before pursuing my baking career. In fact, Johnson and Whales University was the first college I applied for. I got accepted to the pastry chef program but instead I went off to become a Nurse. It was not until Jan 31st, 2021(My 30th Birthday), that I discovered my hidden talent, cake decorating! Well, that lead me here!
It was the 2020 pandemic and here I was turning 30! All my plans for a big 30th birthday vanished like every other plan that year. I knew one thing for certain, I wanted a custom cake to celebrate that day. My baker was unavailable and so were the 3 local bakers I reached out to. I then decided to make my own cake.
I knew how to bake so that was not a problem but cake decorating, I knew absolutely nothing about. Since I had 2 weeks ahead of me, I taught myself how to decorate cakes and went for it. Boy, did I get a run for my money!!
My family and friends were so impressed by my cake decorating skills they started ordering cakes for their birthdays and events. That's literally how I started my business!
The passion was always there but the hidden talent to decorate cakes, that was all God! I am a strong believer and I know God unlocked this hidden talent for a purpose. I'm enjoying every bit of that purpose.
